I would like to renew contact with an old mate of mine from 1st Fd Regt.

We were in 102 Bty between 1960-1963 (roughly).

"Whitey" was a Wireless Operator and I was in the Q store and then posted to "C" gun "C" Troop as A/SGT) , Major Myers was the BC at the time

Bob and I were posted out around the same time. He went to Canberra and I went to 402 Sig Regt, but we kept in touch.

He married soon after to "Laurie" who had been a WRACC driver in Canberra. Our families visited each other and the last I saw of them, they were renting a flat at Naremburn and he was off to Vietnam which would have been around 1966 as I was out of the Army by then.

It is possible they settled in Western Australia as his Wife came from there originally.

Anybody know Bob or where he might be these days? I would appreciate any help or comments.

Many thanks,

Basso   Ron Bastian (ex BDR - 1st Fd. Regt 1959-1963)

Hi Gunners all,

I finally found my old mate Bob White that I have been looking for on this website for years..............I just got off the phone with him and he lives in WA. We certainly had some catching up to do and will share heaps of memories and stories in the days to come.
Old gunners never die...they apparantly move to WA?????.
